Dr. Siyeon Kim earned her B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park before obtaining her D.D.S from Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College. She completed her residency at Jersey Center Medical, where she provided comprehensive care and practiced general dentistry with a multi-disciplinary approach. During her residency, she rotated through general anesthesia, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and oral-maxillofacial surgery, gaining enhanced oral surgery experience and responsibility under on-site OMS attendings at a level-two trauma center.
Dr. Kim has been practicing dentistry since 2021. In her first year of practice, she pursued additional courses in aesthetic full mouth rehabilitation, airway-centric aesthetic dentistry, the power of pink composites, excellence in anterior direct resin composites, and techniques for ideal implant aesthetics. She holds certifications from the World Clinical Laser Institute (Associate Fellowship Certification) and Invisalign Aligntech Certification. Dr. Kim was recognized as a Smigel Scholar at the American Society for Dental Aesthetics (ASDA) annual conference in October 2022 and received The President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Dr. Kim loves the fact that in her role each patient, clinician, and case is unique. There are hundreds of ways of approaching the patient’s chief concern, which is like solving different puzzles every time – and she never gets tired or bored! Dr. Kim’s philosophy is “comprehensive care matters.” Dentistry is more than just “teeth,” it also encompasses a patient’s health, lifestyle, values, previous experiences – all which are important pieces of puzzles in formulating the best treatment plan for each patient.
As a child, Dr. Kim moved around quite a bit. She was born and completed elementary education in Seoul, Korea before moving to Melbourne, Australia for her secondary education. Dr. Kim moved to the United States towards the end of high school. All her immediate and extended family members are in the fields of arts. Dr. Kim’s passion outside of dentistry is in fine arts and music, although she insists that art is a huge component of dentistry also!
Currently residing in Manhattan with her husband and nine-year-old mini Labradoodle, Dr. Kim enjoys taking her dog to Central Park for off-leash hours, participating in NYRR weekend runs, attending Broadway shows, exploring new restaurants, and indulging in weekly strolls to Trader Joe’s for leisure.
